Re-target an XML registry to a different server

Before you begin

You must create an XML registry before you can target it. See Create an XML registry.

A WebLogic Server can have only one XML registry associated with it, although an XML Registry can be targetted to more than one WebLogic Server. When you create an XML registry, you have the option of associating it with one or more WebLogic Servers; this procedure describes how to re-target the XML registry to different servers.

To re-target a particular XML registry to a different WebLogic Server instance:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane, expand Services and select XML Registries.
  3. In the XML Registries table, click the name of the XML registry which you want to re-target.
  4. Select the Targets tab.
  5. In the Servers table, check the name of the WebLogic Servers to which you want to target this XML registry.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
