Changing the Status of a Policy

During the lifetime of a policy, the status of the policy changes because of various events. For example, administrators might want to suspend a policy temporarily so that no further claims can be entered, approved and paid until the cause is clarified. After the reason is determined, the policy must be reinstated. Additionally, a customer might request a policy cancellation at any time during the lifetime of the policy. Siebel Automotive allows you to carry out such status changes to the policy. Table 30 describes the various statuses that a policy might have.

Flat Cancelled

The policy was cancelled during the free-look period.

A customer who purchases a policy can cancel the policy before it expires. The short period after the purchase is known as the free-look period. If the policy is cancelled during the free-look period, the customer is not charged for it.

Mid Term Cancelled
