A Business service allows you to execute a predefined or custom action in a task UI. Note that code that is called either synchronously or asynchronously can not view data that is not yet committed from temporary storage to base tables. You can avoid this problem by adding a commit step before you start a server task for a server component.
You can use Siebel VB or Siebel eScript to define your own custom business service that you can start from a task UI. Note that a server script within a business service operates on the temporary instances of a business component and updates the S_TU_LOG table, not the base tables.
CAUTION: A business service that is called from a task UI cannot include a browser script. The business service only works with a server script. If a business service with a browser script is executed from a task on the Siebel Server, then the business service fails.
