Siebel Business Process Framework: Task UI Guide > User Interface Elements of Siebel Task UI > About the Task Pane > Context PaneThe context pane is a type of pane that is displayed in the task pane when the standard Siebel UI is in use. A task UI that is displayed in the context pane is presented within the context of the standard view that is displayed. Each task that is displayed within the context pane is registered for the given standard view. Figure 7 illustrates how UI elements appear when the context pane is displayed:
How the Footprint of the Task Pane Is ManagedThe task pane is the left most part of the task view that can be closed either by clicking the Tasks button, or by clicking the Close (x) icon in the upper right corner of the action pane. Closing the task pane can be useful when screen space is critical. The end user can manage the footprint of the context pane by collapsing and expanding task groups. If the user clicks the name of a task UI in the context pane, then a new task instance is started and the first view in the task is displayed. At that time, the header Task at the top of the task pane is replaced by the Current Task. |
