Enabling Applets for Drag and Drop to the Dispatch Board Gantt Chart (High-Interactivity Client)

By default, users can drag and drop only activities in the Unscheduled Activities list to the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board. However, you can configure additional applets so that users can drag and drop activities on the other lists to the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board. The Dispatch Board can include multiple source applets for the drag-and-drop event. In the following example task, you configure the FS DB Timed Out Activity List Ax Applet to allow users to drag and drop activities from the Timed Out Activities list to the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board. For more information about performing configuration tasks with Siebel Tools, see Using Siebel Tools.

NOTE:  If the X-Tooltips Last Updated Index user property for the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet has a value of 11 and any of the X-Tooltip 1 through X-Tooltip 11 user properties for this applet is inactive, then the Internet Explorer browser might fail when you attempt to drag and drop an activity on the Dispatch Board. To avoid this failure, change the value of 11 to a number that accommodates the number of active X-Tooltip user properties. For example, if 2 X-Tooltip properties are inactive, then change the value from 11 to 9.

This task is a step in Process of Configuring the Dispatch Board (High-Interactivity Client).

To enable applets for drag and drop to the Dispatch Board Gantt chart

  1. Log in to Siebel Tools as an administrator.
  2. Lock the FS Dispatch Board project for editing.
  3. In the Object Explorer, navigate to Applet, and query for the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet.
  4. Navigate to Applet, then Applet User Prop, and query for Drop Source Applet Name*, making sure to include the wildcard asterisk symbol (*).

The query returns a series of records with user property names beginning with Drop Source Applet Name (for example, Drop Source Applet Name 1).

  5. Create a new applet user property, and perform the following steps:
    1. In the Name field, enter Drop Applet Name X, where X is the next increment (for example, Drop Applet Name 2).
    2. In the Value field, enter the name of the applet that is the source of the drag-and-drop event.

In this example, the value is FS DB Timed Out Activity List Ax Applet.

  6. Compile the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet, and replace the Siebel Repository File (SRF).
  7. Restart the client, navigate to the Dispatch Board, and select Timed Out Activities from the visibility filter.

You are can drag and drop activities from this list to the Gantt chart of the Dispatch Board.
