About Defining User Functionality in the Siebel Handheld Client

The first step in configuring a Siebel Handheld Client is to determine which user interface elements are necessary. Siebel Handheld Client users have different requirements from the Web Client users. Keep in mind the differences in display size, memory capacity, and input methods between handheld devices and larger computers, such as desktop computers.

The goal is to create applications that are easy for your users to use and which take advantage of the strengths of the handheld device platform. Because of the processing speed, memory limitations, and form factor differences, include only those user interface elements that are necessary for users to complete their job responsibilities.
