Siebel Store-and-Forward Messaging Guide for Handheld > Installation and Configuration of Siebel Store-and-Forward Messaging > Process of Installing and Configuring Handheld Applications > Setting Up a Network Connection for Handheld DevicesAfter installing the Siebel Handheld application on the handheld device, you must set up a network connection for the handheld device so that the device can communicate with the queue manager by way of an IP network through the HTTP protocol. NOTE: If you plan to connect the handheld device to the queue manager through a wireless network, such as a wireless LAN 802.11 network or a wireless WAN network (for example, a GPRS or CDMA network), or a VPN, follow the instructions provided by the device manufacturer, the wireless modem manufacturer or the wireless carrier. Adding a Network to the PDA Connection SettingsThis procedure applies when the queue manager is configured on a computer in your company network. If you plan to use Microsoft ActiveSync to connect your device to a laptop and then to the company trusted network, or if you plan to connect the device to the company network directly, then follow these steps.
