Deactivating Records for Unshipped or Unwanted Languages Under Windows

This task is a step in Process of Deleting Unshipped Languages from the S_LST_OF_VAL Table Under Windows. You render unshipped or obsolete languages inactive.

To deactivate records for unshipped or unwanted languages under Windows

  1. Connect to the database using a database client that allows you to run SQL interactively (either one of the native clients, or Siebel odbcsql), and execute the following query:

    update S_LST_OF_VAL set ACTIVE_FLG = 'N'

    where LANG_ID not in ('ENU', '<lang_code1>', ..., '<lang_codeN>');

    NOTE:  Be aware that <lang_code*> tokens must be replaced with actual codes of the languages that are going to be upgraded (such as FRA, DEU, and so on).

    CAUTION:  ENU records must not be deactivated even if you do not have ENU language deployed in your environment. There are system records in S_LST_OF_VAL that are all ENU.

  2. Choose commit (if your database client is not in auto-commit mode), and execute the following query:

    delete from S_LST_OF_VAL where ACTIVE_FLG = 'N';

  3. Choose commit and exit the database client.
