Application Security Framework for Siebel eService

To establish a secured application security framework, you need to decide which application functionality and data content will be for public access and which will be accessible to your registered customers. You will need to authenticate registered users and control the data and functionality each authenticated user can access, to protect privacy and avoid conflicts.

You typically set up a security framework with the following features:

  • Anonymous use. Set up your eService Web site to allow limited use by nonregistered users.
  • Registration. Set up a means to allow nonregistered users to register on your eService Web site.
  • Authentication. Set up a means to store and then authenticate the password and user name data of your registered users.
  • Access Control. Set up a means to control user access to views and data within your site.

For more information on authentication and access control, see Siebel Security Guide.
