M List of Deprecated Features

The following features have been deprecated in Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0) or higher.

Table M-1 List of Deprecated Features

Feature Name Description

Oracle Enterprise Manager SNMP Sub-agent

The Enterprise Manager SNMP subagent feature is planned for deprecation in Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0).

Enterprise Manager SNMP sub-agent functionality provides a way for Oracle databases to be monitored by third-party management applications through the SNMP protocol. The deprecation will only have impact on your Oracle database monitoring if Oracle databases in your environment are monitored by SNMP protocol-based management applications through the subagent.

If Enterprise Manager SNMP subagent is being used in your environment, Oracle will provide alternatives and workarounds to ensure continued monitoring support. Details regarding the alternatives will be published on Oracle Technology Network.

EUM Feature

The EUM feature will be included in Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control Release 1 (11.1.0.1.0), but will be completely removed in the next major release.

The EUM feature is used to monitor performance of deployed Web applications. Going forward, you should plan to use Oracle Real User Experience (RUEI), a powerful Web-based utility that provides data on real-user usage of your Web applications.
