3 Unsupported Products

A list of unavailable features and products is available in section, "Features Not Available or Restricted in Oracle Database 12c," in Oracle Database Readme.

In addition to the items listed in section, "Features Not Available or Restricted in Oracle Database 12c," in Oracle Database Readme, the following products or features are not supported:

  • Oracle ACFS replication and tagging

  • Oracle ACFS security and encryption

  • Cluster Health Monitor

  • Rapid Home Provisioning

  • Oracle Grid Infrastructure Management Repository

Database Smart Flash Cache Support

Database Smart Flash Cache is supported on Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux only.

Oracle Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System (Oracle ACFS) and Oracle Automatic Storage Management Dynamic Volume Manager (Oracle ADVM) Support

ASMLIB Support

ASMLIB is not supported on HP-UX.

4 Installation, Configuration, and Upgrade Issues

Review the following section for information about issues that affect Oracle Database installation, configuration, and upgrade:

4.1 Authentication Issue with Autoupdates Feature

If you choose to download the software updates or apply patches during the database installation, the following error message appears:

[INS-32103] Connection to My Oracle Support could not be established

Workaround:

Perform the following steps:

  1. Exit the Oracle Universal Installer.

  2. Download and install JDK version 1.6.0.20 or higher from the HP website to a tmp directory on your system, such as /tmp/java6.

  3. Run the Oracle Universal Installer as follows:

    $ runInstaller -jreLoc /tmp/java6/jre
    

Alternatively, unselect the software updates download, complete the installation, and then manually apply the required patches.

This issue is tracked with Oracle bug 17756734.

4.2 Segmentation Fault When Using JDK7 Method Handle

When you use the JDK7 method handle to start a static method in a java stored procedure, you may encounter a segmentation fault (SEGV) or a bus error.

Workaround:

None

This issue is tracked with Oracle bug 17944809.

4.3 ORA-07445 Error With Oracle Database Server

Under certain workloads, Oracle Database server fails with the following error:

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [lsrsrt()+594] [SIGILL] [string] [string] [string]

Workaround:

None

This issue is tracked with Oracle bug 18026234.
