Overview

Person is a union type that represent people who may be users of the system or contacts known to users of the system.

Multi-lingual attributes
Person contains attributes which may have multiple different values depending on locale E.g. a person's given name may be different in English and Spanish. In such cases, this interface specifies a set of methods that can be used to get one or more locale specific values of these attributes.

• In the descriptions below the "current" locale refers to a locale in the context of a viewer and not the person whose is being viewed.
  
• In the presence of multiple multi-lingual attribute values, the value associated with a person attribute ( each attribute value independently determined ) is determined by the value associated for a locale, which in turn is determined by the following order of priority.
  
  1. The accessor's context locale
  2. The accessor's preferred locale
  3. The accessor's preferred locale without the country qualifier
  4. The containing scope's default locale
  5. Locale independent value
  6. English
  7. Any available value
