Note that when moving from Release 18.104.22.168.x or 22.214.171.124.x to Release 126.96.36.199, you use the "Apply Maintenance Release" option in Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installer, instead of following the documented upgrade procedures.
For Oracle Hyperion Financial Close Management, applying the maintenance release is supported only from Release 188.8.131.52.
Note: If you were using Oracle Hyperion EPM Architect Release 9.3.1, you can download the Oracle Hyperion Shared Services release 9.3.3 from My Oracle Support.
A release earlier than Release 9.3.3.x
If you are upgrading from a release earlier than 9.3.3.x, you must first upgrade to a supported release and then upgrade to release 184.108.40.206. For upgrade procedures for the earlier release, see the product installation guides for the interim release that you are upgrading to.
An environment that includes multiple releases, which can include an environment with one instance of Shared Services or an environment with two instances of Shared Services

If you are starting from Release 220.127.116.11+, 9.3.0.x, 9.3.1.x (except for Oracle Essbase 18.104.22.168.1, 22.214.171.124, 126.96.36.199, and 188.8.131.52), or 11.1.1.x, Oracle recommends that you upgrade to Release 184.108.40.206 as your interim release. If you are starting from an earlier release, Oracle recommends that you upgrade to the highest level release that directly supports upgrade from your starting release. Security Synchronization between Essbase and Shared Services was removed in Essbase Release 9.3, starting with Release 220.127.116.11.1. Essbase and Shared Services Release 18.104.22.168, however, still synchronize security information. For this reason, if you are using Essbase Release 22.214.171.124.1, 126.96.36.199, 188.8.131.52, or 184.108.40.206, you must first upgrade all products to Release 9.3.3, instead of Release 220.127.116.11.
If you are coming from Release 18.104.22.168 or 22.214.171.124, use the Defects Fixed Finder tool to review the list of defects fixed between those releases and Release 126.96.36.199. This tool is available here:
12530474, 13862453 -- When Administration Services is configured using a proxy server, it is possible to create multiple Essbase Server requests with the same action. This problem can be reduced by increasing the timeout setting WLIOTimeoutSecs in the Oracle WebLogic Server configuration file. The default timeout setting has been changed to 3600.
13109460 -- In aggregate storage outlines, the Never Consolidate operator ("^") is not enabled.
13342191 -- Launching Administration Services Console from within a Web browser using HTTPS may fail.
13041473 -- When you are logged into Administration Services as an administrator, opening an outline in Outline Viewer may take longer than opening the same outline in Outline Editor.
13394854 -- When using the Japanese language version of Administration Services Console, setting the alias table to Default in the Define Dynamic Time Series Members dialog box may fail.
9711083 -- In Calculation Script Editor, the functions DATAEXPORT and SET DATAEXPORTOPTIONS are not listed in the alphabetical list of commands and functions.
9707437 -- Using Partition Wizard to open a partition may take an abnormally long period of time.
12697603 -- If you create and save a rules file using an OCI connect string in an environment where no ODBC Data Source Names (DSN) have been defined, when you open this rules file again, the Open SQL Data Source box may not retrieve the saved OCI info and you may not be able to retrieve data.
13250334 -- When restarting a stopped aggregate storage application, the first attempt to open the outline may result in an error message: There is a problem with locking the outline object, error # 1,051,007
13693153 -- Attempting to create a partition on Essbase using an Essbase cluster name may fail.
13587602 -- Using Migration Wizard to migrate applications to Release 188.8.131.52, filters may not be migrated.
13350620 - Syntax checking for member formulas may not report all syntax errors when comments are not properly closed.
13491431 -- When performing a data load, the dataload.err file is created even when there are no errors with the data load. The file should not be created unless there are errors.
11795960 -- MaxL Editor does not display an auto-complete option for “export outline” when “export” is typed.
13539270 -- In Calculation Script Editor and other editors, the keystroke combination Ctrl+H incorrectly invokes a backspace. The correct behavior would invoke a quick replace dialog box.
1348790, 13592115 -- Performance is slower than expected when viewing outlines or editing objects, such as calc scripts and report scripts.
13425491 -- When Essbase and Administration Services are running in Shared Services mode, the Migration Wizard running in Novice mode fails to migrate LROs from source applications to target applications if, on the Select Objects to Migrate page, you expand the database node. To successfully migrate LROs, do not expand the database node on the Select Objects to Migrate page.
9284745 -- When executing a data load in the background with “Abort on Error” selected, errors encountered during the data load may not result in terminating the process.
9711083 -- When using Calculation Editor, the commands DATAEXPORT and SET DATAEXPORTOPTIONS are not listed under "Functional Commands."
9955008 -- In Administration Services Console, when you attempt to copy a Oracle Hyperion Planning application, the copy does not function properly. You should not be able to copy Planning applications from within Administration Services Console.
12814275 -- When migrating Essbase applications to Release 184.108.40.206, an error message, Failed to migrate the application, may be generated. The application, however, is successfully migrated.
10136151 -- Logging on to Administration Services Console using an offloader may fail and return the following error message, Failed: -1 Your session is not currently authenticated. Please log in.
13078050, 12928265 -- In releases prior to 220.127.116.11, column headers defined in data load rules files are retained when retrieving from a SQL data source, even when the column names in the SQL data source have been changed.
12396813 -- Under some circumstances, if you close the Administration Services Console window without completing an action, this may cause a subsequent log on attempt to fail. In this case, the error message you receive is, “Failed:-1 your session is not currently authenticated please log in.”
12637958 -- Attempting to export data to a remote server using the MaxL Editor may fail.
10080310 -- When using the MaxL Editor, attempting to save a script using the “Save As” menu option may fail.
12923340 -- When using Calculation Script Editor or Report Script Editor, if you select “View,” then “Navigation,” the Close Window icon (“X”) for the editor may no longer appear.
12545771 -- In the Simplified Chinese version of Administration Services Console, the text in the Assign Access Control dialog box is garbled.
9955008 -- In Administration Services Console, you may incorrectly be given the option to copy Planning applications. If you copy a Oracle Hyperion Planning application from Administration Services, you will be unable to provision the application using Oracle Hyperion Shared Services, and the application will not function properly.
9979257 -- The Financial Reporting file report.gif may be deleted by Administration Server. As a result, in Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office, opening a Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting report may result in an error message.
12638860 -- After upgrading to Release 18.104.22.168, it may not be possible to establish an SSL connection to Administration Server using port 4443.
The following issues are the noteworthy known issues of this release.
14734504 – When Administration Services is deployed using WebLogic Server, the connection to Essbase may be lost and the following error may be displayed: <BEA-280060> <The persistent store "_WLS_EssbaseAdminServices0" encountered a error, and it must be shut down: .store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_EssbaseAdminServices0" cannot open file _WLS_ESSBASEADMINSERVICES0000000.DAT.
To work around this problem, delete this .DAT file from \user_projects\domains\<base_domain>\servers\<AdminServer>\data\store\default and diagnostics and restart your Java Virtual Machine.
If this does not resolve the issue:
Log onto WebLogic Server Administration Console, then select Server, then Config Services.
Change :Synchronous Write Policy: to cache-flush.
Select Advanced, then uncheck :Enable File Locking.
Save and activate changes.
Restart WebLogic Server
13336769 -- When running Administration Services on a Linux 32-bit platform with JRockit, opening a data file in Data Prep Editor may cause Administration Server to become unresponsive or to terminate abnormally.
If this happens, changing your Java Virtual Machine to Sun JRE may resolve the problem.
12771304 -- In Essbase and Administration Services, Data Mining is no longer enabled by default. Documentation regarding Data Mining has been removed from the Essbase and Administration Services documentation set. Data Mining may be completely removed in a future release of Essbase. For Data Mining functionality, please consider Oracle Data Mining, which is an option to the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition.
13359958 -- When logging into an Administration Server configured under Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, you must specify the port number with the server name. For information on port settings, see the “Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide”.
9791235 -- Searching for members using Outline Editor and the asterisk (*) wildcard may not retrieve the member or members. A similar search using Outline Viewer will succeed.
10101213 -- If you are running Administration Services Console in Windows 2008, you may not be able to create calculation scripts.
8459384 -- In the Simplified Chinese language version of Administration Services Console, log charts for errors and warnings are not displayed in Log Analyzer.
12673530 -- When running Administration Services Console under Windows 7, some functions may not work. If this occurs, changing Windows security so that the Users group has full access to the folder C:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\eas\console\temp (in a default installation) may resolve the issue.
12376259 -- When Oracle WebLogic Server is restarted after stopping Administration Server, Administration Services may not retain information on any Essbase servers added by the user.
13115255 -- If you are attempting to preview data on an Essbase instance that has been specified in Administration Services Console as EssbaseCluster-1, the action may fail with the error message, Can’t connect to olap services. Can’t connect to Essbase server. Error:Essbase Error (1042003): Network Error (11001): Unable to locate [EssbaseCluster-1] in Hosts file.

When you cut and paste code snippets from a PDF file, some characters can be lost during the paste operation, making the code snippet invalid. Workaround: Cut and paste from the HTML version of the document.
In the topic "Setting the Timeout Period for Administration Services Sessions" in the online help, the timeout period is incorrectly described as twenty-four hours. It should be 45 minutes. The English-language help has been corrected; translated help will still show this as 24 hours.
When an Essbase server is disconnected, options to create, edit, view, and generate Essbase server logs will be greyed out.
