Description of the illustration ovd1_before

This illustration compares the Oracle Virtual Directory 10g topology with an upgraded Oracle Virtual Directory 11g topology.

A box on the left represents a simple Oracle Virtual Directory installation that contains only Oracle Virtual Directory and Directory Manager for managing the Oracle Virtual Directory instance.

Two boxes on the left represent the upgraded Oracle Virtual Directory 11g environment:

One box represents the Oracle WebLogic Server domain, which contains an administration server and a sinlge managed server. The administration server hosts the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console and the Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control. The managed server hosts Oracle Directory Services Manager (ODSM), which is used to manage Oracle Virtual Directory 11g.
A second box represents the Oracle Virtual Directory 11g instance, which is outside of the domain, but associated with the ODSM application deployed on the domain.
