1.1 Flow Chart of the Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite Upgrade Process
Figure 1-1 provides a flow chart of the Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite upgrade process. Review this chart to get familiar with the steps you will be required to take, based on your existing Oracle Fusion Middleware environment.

Whether you are upgrading Oracle Universal Content Management or Oracle Universal Records Management, the upgrade process is the same. However, you must upgrade the Oracle Enterprise Content Management Suite component schemas before you upgrading the middle tiers.
