Preface

The Sun Fire V215 and V245 Servers Installation Guide provides instructions, background information, and reference material to help you install a Sun Firetrademark V215 and V245 server.

The instructions in this document assume that you are a system administrator who is experienced with the Solaristrademark Operating System (Solaris OS).



Note - All internal components must be installed by a Suntrademark qualified service technician.




How This Document Is Organized

This guide is organized in this way:

Chapter 1 provides an overview of the installation process.

Chapter 2 provides instructions for installing a Sun Fire V215 or V245 server.

Chapter 3 provides instructions for powering on the server and configuring the preinstalled software.

This document might not contain information about basic UNIX® commands and procedures such as shutting down the system, booting the system, and configuring devices. Refer to the following for this information:
