Chassis Group Operation Restrictions

Using N1 System Manager, groups of Sun Blade X8400 Server Modules in the chassis can be managed as groups of servers in the same way as described in Chapter 5, Managing Servers and Server Groups, in Sun N1 System Manager 1.3 Discovery and Administration Guide. All group operations are supported, except for the following:

• Modifying a blade guid, also known as a UUID, is not permitted. You cannot use the set server command with the guid subcommand, or the load guidconfig command, on Sun Blade X8400 Server Modules that were discovered using SP-based discovery.

• Logical server groups cannot contain the prefix cmm-. The cmm- prefix is reserved for Sun Blade 8000 Modular System groups.

• Chassis server groups cannot be renamed.

• Chassis server group membership cannot be modified using the add group or remove group commands. Adding or deleting a chassis server group member is not permitted.

• Deletion of a chassis server group using the delete group command is not permitted.
