How to Remove the CPU Module (CMOD) Cover


Caution

Caution - Component damage due to static electricity. Electronic components are extremely sensitive to static electricity. Ordinary amounts of static electricity from clothing or the work environment can destroy the components. Do not touch the components without antistatic precautions, especially along the connector edges. See Antistatic Precautions and Procedures.


Before You Begin

Sun Fire X4800 Server CPU Module (CMOD) and Filler Module Overview

  1. Remove the CMOD. See How to Remove a CPU Module (CMOD).
  2. Press the cover release button on the top of the cover.

  3. Slide the cover toward the back of the CMOD until it stops (approximately 0.5 inch).
  4. To remove, lift the cover straight up.
