Figure 3 shows the sequence of tasks for installing Java Enterprise System.
Task 1: Are you running the installer in silent mode? If yes, continue with Task 2. If no, proceed to Task 5.
Task 2: Run the GUI installer to generate a state file. See Java Enterprise System Installation Guide, Chapter 7, "Generating a State File."
Task 3: Edit the state file, adding the values you gathered in the preinstallation preparation phase. See Java Enterprise System Installation Guide, Chapter 7, "Editing the State File."
Task 4: Run the installer in silent mode. Specify the state file you edited. See Java Enterprise System Installation Guide, Chapter 7, "Running the Installer In Silent Mode." Proceed to Figure 4.
Task 5: Run the GUI installer (see Java Enterprise System Installation Guide, Chapter 5), or the text-based installer (see Java Enterprise System Installation Guide, Chapter 6). Supply the values you gathered in the preinstallation preparation phase. Proceed to Figure 4.
