Guidelines for Partitioning

The following table contains recommended guidelines for partitioning your disk:

/	6 GB, 4 GB minimum	Primary	Install the entire `Java Desktop System` operating system onto a single partition. This method provides sufficient space for you to install a later releases of the `Java Desktop System` without the need to repartition the disk.
swap	Double the size of RAM 256 MB minimum	swap	You can increase or reduce the size of the swap partition as necessary.
