This figure shows the relative relationship of the components of Java Enterprise System. In general, components provide support to other components above them in the diagram. The components are organized into five rows.
Row one, the top row, shows the Portal Server and Secure Remote Access components. Portal Server supports Secure Remote Access.
The next row down, row two, shows the Messaging Server, Instant Messaging, and Calendar Server components.
The next row down, row three, shows the Identity Server component.
The next row down, row four, shows the Application Server, Web Server, and Message Queue components.
The next row down, row five, shows the Directory Server and Directory Proxy Server components. Directory Server supports Directory Proxy Server.
