How to Install the Hard Disk Backplane

1. If necessary, perform the steps to remove the hard drive backplane. See How to Remove the Hard Disk Backplane.
2. Position the new hard drive backplane against the rear of the hard drive bay so that the holes in the backplane align with the screw holes in the chassis.
3. Replace and tighten the two screws that secure the hard drive backplane to the rear of the drive bays.

   Torque screws to 7 inch pounds (0.8 newton meters).

   
   
4. Tighten the single captive screw that secures the hard drive backplane.

   Torque screw to 7 inch-pounds (0.8 newton-meters).

5. Reconnect the flex cable connector to the rear of the hard drive backplane.
   
6. Reinstall all hard drives or hard drive fillers that you removed. See How to Install a Hard Drive.
