Read this document so that you are aware of issues or requirements that can affect the installation and operation of the Brocade USD-X6 and USD-X12 Storage Directors.

The Brocade USD-X6 and USD-X12 Storage Directors are high-performance platforms that connect and extend mainframe and storage-related data replication applications for both disk and tape, along with remote channel networking for a wide range of device types. These multi-protocol gateway and extension platforms interconnect host-to-storage and storage-to-storage systems across the enterprise, regardless of distance, to create a high capacity, high performance storage network.
The USD-X storage directors include the following features:
The USD-X6 and USD-X12 directors are supported only in mainframe environments. Sun does not support the use of USD-X directors in an open system environment.
The Brocade USD-X6 and USD-X12 Storage Directors require USD-X software version 4.1.
