Configuring the Drives

 

Command: Configuration > Drives

 

The drive configuration screens lists all the drives installed in the library with the following information. Additionally, the screen also displays the library’s fastload enable/disable state.

< Element ID

< Vendor

< Model

< Interface (SCSI or Fibre)

< SCSI ID

To modify the library’s fast load feature:

1. Select to enable or disable the Fast Load feature for the library. (See the Fast Load topic for more information).

2. Click Apply.

 

Note: Changes to the fast load feature affects how the library communicates with all drives. This feature is available only at the library-level and not at the individual drive-level.

 

To display the drive's serial number and firmware revision level

Click on the drive row.

The drive’s Element ID, Vendor, Model, Serial Number, and the Firmware version are displayed at the bottom of the screen.

 

To modify a drive’s SCSI ID:

1. Click on the ID field and select a new number.

2. Click Apply.

3. Type your library password and click OK.

 

Note: You must reboot the library to activate the new SCSI ID for the drive. See the Rebooting the Library topic.

 

To display the new drive configuration details, click Reload.
