Performing the Library Self-test

 

Command: Maintenance > Diagnostics

The library self-test performs the following routines:

< The library goes through a normal initialization.

< A get and put is performed from each full storage element to the robot and back.

 

Note: The self-test does a partial test of the hand movement. See Running the Demo Mode to perform a full test of the robotic hand movement.

 

< If a diagnostic cartridge is in the library and at least one drive is installed, then a mount and dismount of the diagnostic cartridge is performed in each drive, starting with Drive 0.

 

Note: The library self-test feature is available only on the Lxx libraries.

 

To perform library self-test:

1. Select Self-test.

 

Warning: This operation makes the library unavailable for host operations. Any backups currently in process will fail.

 

2. Click Start.

3. Enter your library password and click OK.

 

The screen displays the progress of the self-test. If the test detects a problems, appropriate messages are displayed for you to take action.
