Viewing the Cell Map

 

Command: Monitor > Cell Map

The cell map in the Library Administrator provides a virtual view of the library. Some of the information provided in the cell map maybe useful when diagnosing a problem related to the library, drives, or media.

The information displayed in the cell map screen includes:

Storage Cells: When you mouse over on a full storage cell, the element ID, label, and media type of the cartridge is displayed. For example, element 1007*label 00219*type DLT IV.

CAP: Cartridge Access Port. When you mouse over a CAP cell, if a cartridge is present then the element ID, label, and media type of the cartridge is displayed. For example, element 10 * label DG 263 * Type DLT IV.

Drives: When you mouse over a drive, the element ID and state (such as loaded or unloaded) of the drive is displayed. For example, element 500 * drive type DLT1 *no cartridge. If the drive is loaded, the cartridge label is also displayed.

PG: Playground. A group of cells where the cleaning and diagnostics tapes are stored.

 

Notes:  Moving the mouse over the various fields, displays a brief description. For example, when you mouse over a playground cell displays the label of the cleaning or diagnostic cartridge.
