How to Install the VLAN Driver

  1. Install the Sun Blade 6000 10GbE Networking Controller. See How to Install the Sun Blade 6000 10GbE Network Controller.
  2. Open the Managed Network Connections dialog.
    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Double-click the Network Sharing Center to open it.
    3. Select Managed Network Connections on the left side of the panel under “Tasks”.
  3. Right-click one of the Sun Blade 6000 10 GbE Networking Controllers and select Properties.

    In the following example, Local Area Connection 3 is selected.

  4. The Local Area Connection Properties dialog displays.

  5. Click Install.

    The Network Feature Type dialog displays.

  6. Select Protocol and click Add.

  7. Click Have Disk.

    The Install From Disk dialog displays.

  8. Click Browse and choose one of the following paths, depending on the version of Windows Server that you have installed:
    C:\Program Files(x86)\Sun Microsystems\Sun Hxge Drivers\NDIS6\vlan\w2k8\{x86,x64}

    Use the x86 path if you have a 32-bit architecture and the x64 path if you have a 64-bit architecture.

    The Locate File dialog displays.

  9. Select either of the information setup files displayed and click Open.

    The Select Network Protocol dialog displays.

  10. Click OK.

    The Sun Blade 6000 10GbE VLAN driver installs.

    After the installation, the Sun Multiple VLAN Protocol Driver is viewable in the Local Area Connection Properties dialog for each Sun Blade 6000 10GbE Network Controller installed on the system.
