Documentation Errata for AnswerBook2 Server

Book Affected: Traditional Chinese version of Installing and Administering an AnswerBook2 Server

In the Traditional Chinese version of the book Installing and Administering an AnswerBook2 Server, several commands have been translated to show Chinese commands or parameters. These commands should remain in their original form, as shown in the English version of the book.

Documentation Errata for PDA Online Help

Section Affected: PDA Online Help

When viewing online help, the icon for a missing image appears on various pages.

The missing image icon represents an up arrow icon. When you click on the up arrow icon, you are returned to the top of the HTML page. Even though the up arrow icon is missing, clicking on the missing image icon returns you to the top of the page.

Section Affected: About PDASync Under the Heading Desktop Memo Initialization Procedures

In the About PDASync section of online help, under the heading Desktop Memo Initialization Procedures, Steps 3, 4, and 5 appear to have missing or incomplete information. The HTML document has incorrect formatting information.

Steps 2 and 3 are one step, and Steps 4 and 5 are one step.

Section Affected: Getting Started with PDASync Under the Heading The PDASync Application

In the Getting Started with PDASync section of online help, under the heading The PDASync Application, the last paragraph states, "PDASync supports most Palm Pilot Computing platform handheld devices, including the Palm V, Palm III and Palm Professional Edition."

This statement is misleading, and suggests that PDASync may not work with all Palm Pilot devices. PDASync works for all Palm Pilot devices.

Section Affected: Getting Started with PDASync Under the Heading Setting the Port

In the Getting Started with PDASync section of online help, under the heading Setting the Port, Step 2 states, "Select the port (A, B or C) to which you connect the PDA." This information is misleading.

Depending on the hardware features of your machine, PDASync may display different ports when listing the available serial ports to which you connect the PDA. On most machines, /dev/term/a and /dev/term/b are displayed.

Section Affected: Tasks

In the Tasks section of online help, the images for Add Conduit, Memo Conduit, Address, and System and Log do not match the current GUI interface.

Section Affected: Tasks Under the heading To Cancel Synchronization

In the Tasks section of online help, under the heading To Cancel Synchronization, online helps states that a confirmation dialog box appears when you select to cancel the synchronization. This confirmation dialog box does not exist.

Selecting Cancel aborts the current synchronization request.

Section Affected: Tasks Under the heading The Conduits Tab

In the Tasks section of online help, under the heading The Conduits Tab, online help states that all conduits are active after installing PDASync.

All conduits except the Mail conduit are active.

Section Affected: Reference

In the Reference section of online help, the images for Add Conduit, Memo Conduit, Address, and System and Log do not match the current GUI interface.

Section Affected: Reference Under the heading To View the Activity Log

In the Reference section of online help, under the heading To View the Activity Log, online help states that PDASync will not iconify if an error occurs, even if you select the "Iconify application window after synchronization" option.

PDASync does iconify when an error occurs.

Section Affected: Reference Under the heading To Save or Print the Activity Log

In the Reference section of online help, under the heading To Save or Print the Activity Log, online help states that one can save the log to a file.

This feature is no longer available.

Documentation Errata for the Solaris 7 User Supplement

For all instances of documentation errata in the Solaris 7 User Supplement, consult the PDASync online help for the most current information regarding the PDASync application. Access PDASync online help by selecting the Help button from the PDASync application.

Section Affected: Setting Application Properties

In the Setting Application Properties section, the graphic for the Application Properties dialog of PDASync is obsolete. Properties that affect the PDASync log file have been moved to a separate Log Properties dialog that you access from the Properties button found in the Log tab.

Section Affected: Configuring Conduits

In the Configuring Conduits section, the graphic for the Conduit tab is obsolete. The conduits' names do not contain the word "conduit".

The order of the buttons in the toolbar has changed. The new order of the buttons is:

Section Affected: Using the Memo Conduit

In the section Using the Memo Conduit, the graphic for the Memo Conduit properties dialog is obsolete. The Memo Conduit dialog does not have a check box for activating the memo conduit. You cannot specify the location of memos synchronized with the PDA device.

Section Affected: Using the Address Conduit

In the section Using the Address Conduit, the graphic for the Address Conduit properties dialog is obsolete. The check box for overwriting cards with the same name does not exist.

Section Affected: Using the System Conduit

In the section Using the System Conduit, the graphic for the System Conduit properties dialog is obsolete. The check box for activating the System Conduit does not exist.

Section Affected: Using the Mail Conduit

In the section Using the Mail Conduit, the graphic for the Mail Conduit properties dialog is obsolete. The check box for activating the Mail Conduit does not exist.

Section Affected: Viewing the Activity Log

In the section Viewing the Activity Log, ignore the fourth paragraph as the information no longer applies.

Section Affected: "Java 2 SDK 1.2.1_03," Chapter 3, Java for Developers
