A CMC cannot be powered off. Instead, deactivate the CMC if it is the active CMC.
Note - Use the table in Component Addressing to determine the slot number or IPMB address of your component.
Identify the prerequisite and subsequent tasks you must perform in conjunction with this procedure, to achieve a goal.

If the active CMC is to be removed, use the clia switchover command to transfer administration duties to the other CMC.
For example:
# clia switchover
Remove the CMC.
