ProcedureTo Create Sample Messages

This task guides you through the process of composing email. While logged in as Robert, you compose a few messages to verify that Messaging Server is functioning properly and also ensure that Duncan has email in his inbox.

Steps
  1. To display Robert's mail, click the Mail tab at the top of the Communications Express UI.

  2. To send a test email to Duncan, click the Compose link.

    1. In the To field, type duncan@map.beta.com.

    2. In the Subject field, type Vacation last Month.

    3. In the main body of the message, type I discovered many herbal remedies during my vacation last month. as the message content.

    4. Click Send to send the message.

  3. To send a test email to Duncan with urgent priority, compose a second message.

    1. In the To field, type duncan@map.beta.com.

    2. In the Subject field, type Urgent: Please Review.

    3. In the main body of the message, type Duncan, please review this document ASAP.

    4. In the Priority drop-down menu, change the message priority to Urgent.

    5. To attach a document, click the Attach icon at the top of the New Message window to attach a document.

      An Attach File window appears.

    6. Use the Browse button to identify any document, and click Add to add the document to the attachment list.

    7. Click Attach to attach the document to the email.

    8. Click Send to send the urgent email to Duncan.

      Duncan will receive this urgent email when he logs in later.

  4. Click the Log Out link to log off Robert from Communications Express.
