In certain situations, you might want to disable the agent realm to better suit your site's deployment requirements. For example, the agent realm is not required in SSO_ONLY and URL_POLICY modes. This task is performed using WebSphere Application Server 6.1. The following steps describe how to disable the agent realm.
Log in to WebSphere Application Server 6.1 Administration Console.
In the left-hand pane, select the Configurations node.
Select the instanceName-config node where the agent is installed.
where instanceName is the name of that particular server instance.
In the expanded tree under the server name node, click the Security node.
This displays the general security settings for this server instance on the right hand panel.
In the right-hand pane, change the value of Default Realm to file.
If WebSphere Application Server 6.1 was configured to use a different realm than file before the agent was installed, you must choose that value from the pull-down menu instead.
Restart WebSphere Application Server 6.1 to ensure the changes take effect.
The preceding steps disable the agent realm for WebSphere Application Server 6.1. To re-enable the agent realm, follow steps 1-4 and in step 5 change the Default Realm value to agentRealm.
