On occasion, you might need to turn off a port. For example, a cable has become damaged and is causing symbol errors that are affecting the switch chip’s performance. Use the disableswitchport command to disable a switch chip port.
On the management controller, type:
# disableswitchport switch_chip port
where:
switch_chip is the letter of the switch chip (A–F).
port is the number of the port (1–36).
