This document contains important and late-breaking information about Oracle’s Sun Rack II 1042 and Sun Rack II 1242 cabinets and power distribution units (PDUs).
Before shipping any rack by air freight, you must apply the Magnetized Material label (see
Magnetized Material Label) to the outside of the shipping carton and follow all International Air Transport Association (IATA) requirements.
Oracle will apply this label to racks that ship from their factories. However, if you ordered an empty Sun Rack II Enterprise packaging, you must apply this label to the shipping carton at eye level before shipping a rack using air freight.
You will find the Magnetized Material label in the plastic envelope on the outside of the empty shipping carton. This envelope also contains the Sun Rack II Unpacking Guide.
![]() | Caution - The IATA requires that all racks, whether full of equipment or empty, must display the Magnetized Material label when they are shipped using air transportation. |
The three-phase PDUs (both the high-voltage and low-voltage versions) are not supported in the Sun Rack II 1042. If your equipment requires a three-phase PDU, use the Sun Rack II 1242 instead.
Additionally, select the appropriately sized rack for the equipment you plan to install. You may need to select the deeper Sun Rack II 1242 if you plan to install large equipment or equipment that requires a large amount of cabling.
You can order additional optional hardware components for your rack at:
Refer to the Sun Rack II User’s Guide (820-4759), and your equipment’s installation manual, for instructions on installing equipment purchased from the sales site. For instructions on installing power distribution units, refer to the Sun Rack II Power Distribution Units User’s Guide (820-4760).
Note - If you ordered rack components, or equipment, from another company, refer to that company’s documentation for installation and service instructions.
The following table lists the documentation for this product. You can find the online documentation at:
