User's Guide for Patch Set 8 and Subsequent Compatible Releases
cpvtslogs is a shell script, which is used to copy the logs to a USB drive. Since the BOOTCD system is a standalone system without any network connectivity, this utility is helpful in copying the logs to the USB drive in case of any failures. This helps in further debugging.
This utility can be invoked from the terminal window as follows:
# cd /usr/sunvts/bin # ./cpvtslogs
Note - Ensure that the BOOTCD system is connected with a USB drive to run this utility.
This utility prompts the user about the USB, to which the logs are copied. If there are multiple USBs connected to the system, the utility displays the possible choices to the user to select the USB drive to which the logs need to copied.
Once USB drive is selected, the utility displays the possible choices of the disk slices/partitions to which the logs can be copied. When the desired disk partition/slice is chosen, it is mounted to /tmp/sunvts and the software logs are copied.
The cpvtslogs utility is currently placed under the utility directory of the VTS code.
