The stop-database command stops the Derby database server that is included with the Sun Java System Application Server software for use with the Application Server samples.
The database must be stopped by the user that installed the Derby database server.
This command is supported in local mode only.
The host name or IP address of the Derby database. The default is the IP address 0.0.0.0, which listens on all interfaces.
The port name of the Derby database. The default is 1572.
The following command stops the Derby database on the host host1 and port 5001:
asadmin> stop-database --dbhost host1 --dbport 5001
The exit status applies to errors in executing the asadmin command. For information on database errors, see the derby/db.log file. The default location for this file is install_dir/derby/db.log.
