IN: The session for the host and port to talk to.

data_writer

IN: A function callback to store the retrieved data locally. See write_to_data_destination.

cookie

IN: The opaque data delivered to the data_writer callback to identify this data stream.

oid

IN: Identifier for the metadata record to retrieve.
