Starting the Bundled Java DB Server

The Application Server includes a bundled Java DB server. Java DB is based on the Apache Derby database. You do not have to start the database to perform any other tasks in this Quick Start Guide. However if you would like to start the database for future use, see the following procedure.

ProcedureTo Start the Bundled Java DB Server

  1. Make sure that you are logged in as the user that installed the database.

  2. Run asadmin start-database.
