Solaris Easy Access Server 3.0 Release Notes

Chapter 4 Late-Breaking New Features

This chapter includes late-breaking new features that arrived too late to be included in the "What's New" chapter of the Solaris Easy Access Server 3.0 Installation Guide.

SolarisTM Web Start and Disk Space Management

When doing a Web Start installation, you can locate products in directories other than their default directory. For example if there is insufficient space in the default directory, you might choose another directory. However, the relocation option is only available at the initial installation.

Web Start will not fail due to lack of disk space. Whether you chose the default or an alternate directory, Web Start performs a disk check operation to make sure there is enough room in the directories you have chosen. If there is not enough disk space, Web Start displays a message about insufficient disk space and will not let you click the Install Now button until you have resolved all disk space issues. You can manage disk space by removing unwanted data on the disk or by selecting fewer product components.
