Installation and Configuration

Please make sure all iPlanet Application Server 6.0 components and the Unified Integration Framework (UIF) have already been installed on the server machine first.

Note: After installation on Windows NT, the machine must be manually restarted.

The daemon process must be started after installing the connector and every time after rebooting the system. To run sample applications, after first installing the connector, use the command startsapworker.sh from the </iasdirectory>/ias/APPS/bin for Solaris. For NT use either the command startsapworker from the </iasdirectory>/ias/APPS/bin, or click on the link R3 Connector 6.0 - Start Worker Process on the Start Menu. Make sure that the sapworker process is running before using the sample applications.

Browse Archived XMLs

When choosing the Browse Archived XMLs, do not simultaneously choose any other of the icon options.

ECUStructure.XML Can Not Be Successfully Loaded from the Archives Table

Loading this file sends it to the wrong location in the repository. Workaround:

  1. Extract ECUStructure.XML from the zip file.
  2. Start the UIF Repository Browser.
  3. Select the data source that you want to load this into.
  4. Select the dataTypes under the data source.
  5. Click the Import button.
  6. Click the Browse button and locate the ECUStructure.XML file.
  7. Click the Open button to select the file.
  8. Click OK to load the file into the repository.

Management Console Must Be Restarted

After creating a new datasource or editing an existing data source, the SAP R/3 Management Console must be restarted.

Mining Tool Does Not Work With Some R/3 Configurations

Mining tool on both NT and Solaris can't mine SAP metadata against an R/3 installation whose gateway host is different from the R/3 host.  In face of this problem, customer is suggested to mine against a single host development R/3 system, export metadata, and then import into the production iPlanet Application Server system.

sapadapter.tar

The installer will attempt and fail to import the empty file sap/metadata/map.xml under bsp.adapterTypes. There is no impact on repository.

sapTrace

sapTrace is set to 1 when a new datasource is created using the Management Console. This has been set to 0 with SAP sample datasource.
