Summary

These release notes detail the changes and known problems for iPlanet Application Server Enterprise Connector 6.0 for Tuxedo.

BEA Tuxedo version 6.5 is supported.

This enterprise connector has the following platform and system requirements:

Supported Platforms          

System Requirements

• 50MB disk space, 64MB memory minimum, 128MB recommended
• requires iPlanet Application Server 6.0, UIF (Unified Integration Framework) 6.0, and Tuxedo workstation client already installed on machine

Installation and Configuration

Please make sure all iPlanet Application Server 6.0 components and the Unified Integration Framework (UIF) have already been installed on the server machine. The iPlanet Enterprise Connector for Tuxedo must be installed on the same machine as the iPlanet Application Server.  

• for Windows NT, unzip TUX\NT\instux.zip from the CD-ROM into a temporary directory, then run setup.exe in the instux directory
• for Solaris, unzip TUX/Solaris/instux.tar from the CD-ROM into a temporary directory and then run setup in the instux directory from the command line

After installation, the path must be set before samples will work.

• for Windows NT, set the path to include <tuxedo /ws root>\bin directory.
• for Solaris, set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include <tuxedo /ws root>/lib directory. The LD_LIBRARY_PATH of the shell environment may be modified, or the script <ias root>/ias/bin/kjs may be used to include this path.

Note: After installation on Windows NT, the machine must be manually restarted.

To view debug messages, use kregedit to create a node in the registry named:

...\software\iPlanet\ApplicationServer\6.0\CCS0\Extensions\TuxedoAdapterExt\cTuxedoAdapterExt\DebugLevel. The type integer value 0, 1, 2.

Known Problems

Management Console Must Be Restarted 

After creating a new data source or editing an existing data source, the Tuxedo Management Console must be restarted.
