Chapter 9   Configuring Postit Notes


The postit provider allows you to display a notes channel on the user's mobile device. The notes channel displays messages that you publish on the public bulletin board.

This chapter discusses how to use the Administration Console to activate the Portal Server editable attribute for this channel and how to use the desktop to set up content for it.

To set up the postit channel, complete the following steps:

  1. As root, log in to the Administration Console and select Manage Domains.

  2. Select the link for your server's domain name.

  3. Under the Roles heading, select the AdminRole link.

  4. Select the Users link to display the list of users for AdminRole.

  5. Select the root link.

  6. Under the Profiles heading, select Policy to display the Policy Module page.

  7. Scroll down to the Desktop table and locate the iwtPostitProvider row.

  8. In the iwtPostitProvider row, select the check box in the Editable column.

  9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Submit and then select Continue.

  10. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Cancel to exit.

  11. As root, log in to the Portal Server desktop.



    Tip

    If the desktop does not display the Notes channel, follow these steps to activate the channel:

    1. Select the desktop's Content tab.

    2. Select the Notes check box.

    3. Select Finish to return to the home page.



  12. On the Notes channel, select Edit.

  13. Type in the note you want to display.

  14. Select Finished.
