Installing the SLES OS From the Distribution Media
Before installing the OS, gather the following items.
Required information for your network environment (IP address, gateway, netmask, etc.)
All the required drivers. For a list of drivers, see Obtaining Drivers.
The operating system distribution media set or equivalent ISO images.
Download instructions are included in the section for the corresponding OS.
The required hardware. It includes:
If you are installing remotely, the DVD-ROM drive, keyboard, mouse, and monitor are connected to the local system instead of the server where you are installing the OS. Also, you can use an ISO image instead of an actual CD/DVD-ROM.
If you are installing locally, you need:
A multiport cable to connect to the front of the server. For details, refer to Using the Multi-Port Cable in Sun Blade X6275 M2 Server Module Service Manual.
USB keyboard and mouse.
Monitor.
DVD-ROM drive.
