Configure a data source for a job scheduler

Job Scheduling makes Java commonj timers cluster aware and provides the ability to execute jobs periodically any where in the cluster without a dependency on a particular server. The job scheduler data source configuration settings specify how this information is shared across servers in this cluster.

To configure a data source for a Job Scheduler:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the left pane of the Console, expand Environment and select Clusters.
  3. Select the name of a cluster for which you want to configure a data source for a job scheduler.
  4. Select Configure > Scheduling.
  5. In the Data Source For Job Scheduler field, select the data source to use.
  6. In the Job Scheduler Table Name field, enter a table name to use for storing timers active with the job scheduler
  7. Click Save.
  8. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
