Target WTC services

Before you begin

Deciding when to target a WTC Service is very important. Once a WTC Service is targeted, the configuration deployed to the selected server is static. Although you can continue to make changes in your WTC Service configuration, any changes made after the configuration is deployed will not be reflected in the selected server. You will need to remove the service from the server and target the service to the server for these changes to take effect.

Targeting deploys the connectivity information contained in a WTC Service configuration to a selected server. Although you may have many WTC Service configurations in the current WebLogic Server domain, only one WTC Service configuration can be targeted to any given server.

To target a WTC Service:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Administration Console, expand Interoperability and select WTC Service.
  3. On the WTC Servers page, click the name of a WTC Service.
  4. Click the Target and Deploy tab.
  5. To assign a WTC Service to a selected server, check the server from the list of independent servers. A WTC Service can be assigned to one server.
  6. To remove a WTC Service from a server, clear the check mark from the server.
  7. Click Save.
  8. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
