Guest VM patching Provide automated host patching and integration with an Unbreakable Linux network (ULN).
Historical Trending View historical workload trends for Oracle Solaris Zones against one another on a central graph.
Host monitoring and management Monitor of Cloud Control component services, such as jobs and notifications.
Hypervisor/OS Provisioning Provide default templates for the creation of Oracle VM Server for SPARC controlling domain configuration. Ensure compatibility between embedded hypervisor components in the firmware and the bare metal OS layers above.
Image Library Management Maintain ISO and Oracle Solaris Flash Archive (FLAR) images for both physical and virtual provisioning.
Monitoring Profiles for V12N Provide monitoring attributes for issues associated with Oracle VM Server for SPARC and Oracle Solaris Container environments.
Network Configuration Provide network topology in VM creation wizards that result in more redundant configurations based on IP multi-pathing and VLAN tagging.
Oracle Solaris Container Management Provide full life-cycle management, including discovery, create, delete, configure, boot, shutdown, and monitor.
Oracle Solaris Global Zone Configure global zone resource allocation and monitor resource consumption.
Oracle Solaris Zones and Patch Management Facilitate “update on attach” actions as zones are migrated around to different global zones.
Oracle VM and Guest VM provisioning Deploy Oracle VM to bare metal servers and create Guest VMs.
Oracle VM Server for SPARC Provide full life-cycle management, including discovery, create, delete, configure, boot, shutdown, and monitor.
Oracle VM management including Oracle VM manager and self-service console (IaaS manager) Manage environment requests to allow for more storage.
Oracle VM-template based provisioning Manage applications and required resources based on service level requirements, etc.
Performance monitoring Provide real-time and historical performance monitoring.
Policy management Ensure consistency of deployments and adherence to operation standards. Includes policy violation notifications.
Resource Virtual Pools Construct T-series server group and manage the network configuration and shared storage, auto-balance the workload, and view historical aggregations of performance metrics.
Storage Orchestration Automatically facilitate the use of Oracle Sun ZFS Storage Appliances in the Oracle Solaris Container and Oracle VM Server for SPARC environments.
Storage Plug-in Manage storage assets more effectively.
Technology Abstraction Layer Use M-series dynamic hardware domains, T-series Oracle VM Server for SPARC, and Oracle Solaris Zones, and create complex operational plans.

11.4.2 Ops Center Features

Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center provides the most comprehensive management across Oracle servers, storage, network devices, operating systems, and Oracle Solaris virtualization technologies while dramatically improving the efficiency of IT operations with its integrated life-cycle management and built-in automation. Ops Center is the best solution on the market today for Oracle infrastructure management.

Ops Center provides full life-cycle management of virtual guests, including resource management and mobility orchestration. It helps customers streamline operations and reduce downtime. Ops Center provides an end-to-end management solution for both physical and virtual systems. From Oracle Solaris Zones to Oracle VM Server for SPARC, Ops Center offers the right combination of granular control and workload abstraction for a complete hardware and software solution.

Ops Center includes the following features:

Feature Description
Alarm Management Provide alert correlation and aggregation. Open a Service Request with My Oracle Support.
Asset Management Manage distributed assets from the same console. Provide new hardware asset reporting down to the field replaceable unit (FRU) part number.
Audit Reporting Track software and configuration changes made with Ops Center through easily read reports.
Bare Metal OS Provisioning Automate Kickstart, Jumpstart, YAST, and DHCP configuration for the remote light-out provisioning of servers. Create profiles to capture finish scripts and customization.
