3 Site Preparation

This chapter describes the tasks you must complete before installing Oracle Database Appliance. It includes:

System Installation Task Checklist

The following table lists the tasks you must perform to properly install the system. These tasks must be performed in the order they appear in the table.

Prepare Your Site

Use the following procedure to prepare your site for Oracle Database Appliance installation:

To Prepare Your Site

  1. Ensure that your site meets the environmental requirements in Environmental Specifications.
  2. Ensure that your site meets the electrical specifications in Electrical Specifications.
  3. Ensure that your site has adequate clearance for the shipping containers.

    The shipping box measures 91.12 x 60.66 x 53.50 cm (35.87 x 23.88 x 21.06 inches).

  4. Open the shipping container.

    You should do this at the location where the system will be installed.

  5. Check the contents of the shipping container.

    It should contain:

    • Preconfigured system

    • Accessory kit, including:

      • Accessing Product Documentation

      • Safety and legal documentation

      • Rackmount Guide and Alignment Template

      • Rackmount kit

    • Power cords (shipped separately)

    • Shipping kit (optional)

Environmental Specifications

The following table lists the environmental requirements for a single, non-racked Oracle Database Appliance installation.
