Download, Installation, and Configuration ReadMe

11g Release 2 (11.1.2.2)

January 2017

This document contains important information to help you get started downloading, installing, and configuring the Oracle Forms and Reports 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.2) software.

Note:

For information about downloading previously released versions of Oracle software, refer to My Oracle Support document ID 1071023.

For information about downloading other Oracle Forms and Reports products, see Oracle Forms and Reports Download, Installation, and Configuration Readme Files.

This document contains the following topics:

1 Task 1: Review and Make Note of Your Operating System Capabilities (32-bit or 64-bit)

Before you download any Oracle Forms and Reports software, review your existing environment and determine your specific operating system versions, including whether you are using 32-bit or 64-bit systems.

Many Oracle products provide specific 32-bit and 64-bit downloads. As a result, it is important to make note of your specific operating system requirements before starting any downloads.

2 Task 2: Review the Certification and System Requirements

Review the following documents to be sure that the Oracle Forms and Reports software you want to download is supported on your existing software and hardware.

Note:

When checking the certification information for each of the products you want to install, be sure to check specifically for any 32-bit or 64-bit system requirements. In some cases, it is important for you to download software specifically designed for the 32-bit or 64-bit environment, explicitly.

  • To ensure that Oracle Forms and Reports is certified with your hardware and software platforms, refer to Oracle Fusion Middleware Supported System Configurations on the Oracle Technology Network (OTN):

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html

The various certification documents contain information related to supported 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, databases, web servers, LDAP servers, adapters, IPv6, JDKs, and third-party products.

The certification document for 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) is called System Requirements and Supported Platforms for Oracle Forms and Reports 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.x) Certification Matrix.

  • To ensure you have enough physical memory, disk space, and other computing resources, review the Oracle Forms and Reports System Requirements and Specifications document on OTN:

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-requirements-100147.html

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/downloads/index.html

Be sure to select the proper Oracle WebLogic Server installer for your platform:

  • For installations on any supported platform, use wls1036_generic.jar. Note that you must download and install a supported JDK on your system before attempting to run this installer. Refer to My Oracle Support document ID 1506916.1.

  • For Linux x86 32-bit machines, use wls1036_linux32.bin.

  • For Solaris 32-bit machines, use wls1036_solaris32.bin.

  • For Windows 32-bit machines, use wls1036_win32.exe.

  • For 64-bit systems, see "Installing WebLogic Server on 64-Bit Platforms Using a 64-Bit JDK" in the Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle WebLogic Server.
