Configuring User Preferences Default Settings

You can configure the default settings for user preferences,

  1. Open the BCC > Service Admin > Service Center > Global Service Center Settings > User Preferences Default page.

  2. Check the appropriate boxes to set the default behavior to alert users when they attempt to discard a new solution or submit a task.

  3. Use the Default Home Tab menu to select the tab that appears by default in ATG Service Center.

  4. The Default Solution Class menu selects the default solution class in the Contribute tab.

  5. Select the default number of Answers per Page on each page after a search.

  6. The Show Answers As options sets how answers are displayed. Selecting Individually sets the default to search results being shown separately, even if they come from the same document. Selecting Group Answers by Document (the default selection) sets the default to search results being displayed as a document title followed by the answers it contains.

    Note that the Show Answers As setting cannot be accessed if you are running Self Service without Knowledge. In that case, to change this setting, log in to the Business Control Center. Go to Content Administration > Browse Assets. Select the Site Option asset type, locate the ShowAnswersAs option, and modify the defaultValue setting:

    0 = Individually
    1 = Group by Document

    Note: This setting determines how answers are shown, not the Show Answers by Doc setting in the Search Management Console.

  7. Enable Statement Editing allows users to edit search statements by default.
