4.3. Can I Connect Over a Virtual Private Network?

You can use Oracle Virtual Desktop Client to connect to a server over a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN is typically used to provide secure access to a company network to people from outside the network, such as employees working from home. See your administrator if you need help to configure your iPad for connecting over a VPN.

When you are connected to a VPN, an icon is displayed in the iPad status bar.

If you are experiencing problems when using a VPN, you might want to decrease the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) setting to allow space for Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) headers. See Table 3.1, “Settings on the Virtual Desktop Page”.

Contact your administrator for advice on the correct MTU setting for your network.
