This section describes localization issues that apply to this Oracle Solaris 11 release.
Non-GTK applications (X and Java applications) fail to connect to the input method framework when the IIIMF input method framework is used with the ATOK Japanese language engine on non-UTF-8 locales.
Workaround: Choose one of the following workarounds:
Use the IBus input method framework with the Anthy language engine.
Use the IIIMF input method framework with the Wnn language engine.
This section describes the input method issues in the Trusted Extension environment.
IBus language panels are not shown in non-global workspaces.
Workaround: Start the IBus Preference tool from the terminal or from the Oracle Solaris desktop.
To start the IBus Preference tool from the command line, type the following command:
To start the IBus Preference tool from the Oracle Solaris desktop, select the System -> Preferences -> iBus Preferences.
In the IBus Preferences window, select the Always or When Active option from the Show language panel list.
The Input Method Selector tool might fail to change the input method framework.
Workaround: To change the input method framework, do the following:
Log in to an Oracle Solaris Trusted Extensions Failsafe session.
To change the input method framework from the terminal, use the imf-selector command.
Select an input method framework.
The selected input method framework is used for all labeled workspaces.
IIIM Input Method Configuration tool runs in trusted path when the tool is invoked from the Preference menu bar.
Workaround: To configure IIIMF in each labeled workspace, use the iiim-properties command from the terminal in the workspace.
